SYDNEY: Australian Erin Patterson appeared in court on Friday (Nov 3) charged with the murder of three elderly people, who police have said are suspected to have died after they ate poisonous mushrooms at a lunch hosted by the woman.
Patterson, 49, is charged with three counts of murder and five of attempted murder, according to court documents. She allegedly served up a poisonous beef Wellington that killed three guests and poisoned a local pastor.
She did not seek bail, and the case will next be heard in May 2024, after police secured a 20-week adjournment, giving detectives time to pick through computers seized from Patterson’s house. She has previously denied wrongdoing.
